whats uchicago’s early action acceptance rate? I can’t find it anywhere online.
For an international student with low gpa, high test scores, very good ec’s, and good at writing would you recommend applying to uchicago ea or Stanford rea?I know I’m leaning more towards Stanford but id love to hear people’s opinions and advices about this.
Obviously you want to be strategic about your chances, but the acceptance rates are going to be low either way. You should apply EA to the school that 1) you want to attend the most, 2) Is the best fit academically for you, and 3) you can compete for admission most effectively. Stanford and UChicago are very different schools. What’s your goal for college? Since Stanford has single-choice EA, you want to make sure that you don’t want to apply to any other colleges early. However, if UChicago is your first choice, then apply early action as well as to other schools early.
Also, make sure your stats are competitive and that you’re making realistic decisions. Don’t put all your bets in one basket; always have a backup.
If UChicago is your first choice, you can apply ED1, which appears to give a significant advantage over RD.
and, @ivygrad0001, that you can afford
Applying EA to UChicago will not give your application a boost. Applying REA to Stanford will not give you a boost. Think long and hard about using either option. If UChicago is really your first choice, and you believe you can afford to attend if accepted, then applying ED to Chicago will give you a boost and should be considered.
You said in a previous thread that your weighted GPA is 3.75. I don’t mean to be harsh, but I think both of those schools are out of reach. I would look at schools where you have a more realistic shot at acceptance.
