UChicago EA Applicants 2018

Expecting mid/December release of UChicago EA decision, the extra waiting days could torture us. :frowning:
Wish to have acceptance letter before Christmas.

@ironchariot I think the music thing is really cool! Though the wait is totally killing me :/

@chic thanks  and it’s killing me too, hence the playlists

Ooh I like the playlist idea! Care to share any songs? :)

@nerve sure! which ones you want?

I went to the admissions office a week ago, and they said decisions would be released after the 15th, but before Christmas!

Gaaaa this is such torture! I’d love to see what your deferred playlist looks like, iron chariot  (I think if I’m either accepted or rejected I’m going to be going too nuts to listen to anything lol)

Actually, I just realized I don’t know what happens with deferral. If I get deferred, what can I expect to happen?

If the result is disappointing, try “Breathe me” by Sia. Otherwise “Rock n Roll” by Avril. lol.

OK let’s see
Should I stay or Should I go by The Clash
Do You Want Me by Jewel
All I Really Want by Alanis Morissette
Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani
Over the Moon from RENT
Take Me or Leave Me from RENT
If 6 Was 9 by Jimi Hendrix
When You Believe by Mariah Carey/Celine Dion
Achilles Last Stand by Led Zeppelin

@fireball deferral means you aren’t accepted or rejected for EA. your final decision will come RD

Someone with an act of 20 clearly had a special. And as applicants we have no rights to judge people by their scores.

You’re awesome haha. Take Me or Leave Me is perfect for deferrals  And @International I love Sia! Have you listened to Rufus Wainwright at all? I’m so psyched about Chicago, especially if this is what all the other students are like.

@nerve thanks  I want to meet you all so badly and most of all to go to UChicago!

Got to say that Christmas Bells is my go to “be cool” song from Rent. All around solid playlist.

@kai why thank you! like I said, I’m waaay too stressed for my own good, and music helps calm me.

Was hoping for sooner than that for D. A mid-Dec acceptance would save her the agony (not to mention $!!) of 5 or 6 other applications that are due Jan 1.

Since it’s before the 25, you can still save the money  Just wait until right after Christmas and then if she gets deferred you can send the others, and if not you won’t have had to pay. Unfortunately the apps still have to be done…I’m struggling with that now, my list of apps is way too long for my mental health

True enough. Ditto on the mental health thing. So many essays she won’t have to write between now and Jan 1 with a good news email from UChicago.

Does it says on your account " all decisions have already been made"
