hello fellow applicants!

I have been reading this thread for a while but I guess I was too stressed and nervous to join the conversation. I thought that maybe it was a good start to tell you that they announced the decisions date.

“Early Action decisions will be available in your UChicago Account on Wednesday, December 18th in the late afternoon.”

Have a great day! It would be awesome to meet you all!

Don’t be nervous! We don’t bite(: we can’t talk about the “D”, it’s forbidden. Btw, by “D”, I mean decisions… Feel free to start a discussion about macaroni if your heart so desires!

We should talk about the snow storm! Apparently they’re calling them names now. Snowstorm Electra will bring 5 to 8 inches in my area of MA.

Really?! Do they name snowstorms alphabetically too?

I feel like they do; Electra is a weird name and it begins with a letter close to the beginning of the alphabet.

I hope we have a snow day or something. That would be wonderful.

I wish I had a snowstorm here… it is just so cold and snow-free, if there is such a term. Electra sounds like a superhero name

@poisinbee, where do you live? In AZ it’s going to be 77 degrees next week -___- Winter neglects us.

It’s about 25 F for me. Practically tropical, considering the fact that it’s been in the single digits for the past few days.

Around 65 degrees here! Also, Electra is possibly the coolest name for a snowstorm ever. And don’t judge me, guys, but when carter said “we can’t talk about the ‘D’” I grossly misinterpreted that statement for a minute there…
oops -_-

@carter001 I am from Romania…it should snow a lot here I want a Christmas with snow.
After the discussions about bands and actors, I just want to ask: anybody here fan of Muse? :D

We usually refer to the snow storms one way - “$#@!, it’s still snowing?!” :P

Anyone here every read anything by Richard Feynman?

@fireballs619 yes, I did. Six Easy Pieces. He is such an amazing scientist.

@poisonbee I love Muse! My favorite songs by them are “Uprising,” “Stockholm Syndrome,” “Starlight,” and “Hysteria”. You? :)

@neontissues you are from MA too? Boston or western Mass? The snow in Western Mass doesn’t look too crazy so far…

I live in Alaska, so we get used to snow storms.

Ah! Hey guys! I’ve been seriously lurking this forum for a while and you guys just seem so awesome so I finally mustered up the energy to make an account. I’m just as nervous for wednesday as you guys are but I supposed making an account would at the least make the wait entertaining :)

welcome ita! we made a truce not to talk about decisions/our chances until wednesday, but feel free to talk about anything else

@ita Hi there! It’s great to have more people here, the more the merrier :)

I’m glad to join! I suppose I should share an interesting fact about myself. My name is Margarita. To the confusion of most, I am not hispanic, nor was Margarita my birth given name. I changed it legally last year by choice it fit my personality better than my original name. I suppose my family felt the same way, since they have been calling me Margarita nearly my entire life. I wanna hear about you guys too! Whats your best (non-academic- you guys are oh so qualified for U of C, by the way) interesting fact?

Oh by the way, I experienced my first dreaded UIC/U of C mixup by a distant family member yesterday. It’s real, people.
