UChicago EA Applicants 2018

I had an e-reader a couple of years ago when I went to Greece and I LOVED it for travel but for everyday use nothing is better than the real thing!

I have a few amazing old books my grandma found in a secondhand store–one of them is a Portuguese-English dictionary from the late 1800s. It’s absolutely gorgeous, but the cover is only hanging on by a thread. Awesome incentive to learn Portuguese, though  Personally I like ereaders and regular books pretty equally; reading on an ereader makes me feel super professional, which is a nice ego boost for reading required books (I’m like a packrat. I get easily attracted by shiny objects.) But for something like “Harry Potter” or “Pale Fire” I’ve gotta have the paper

@neontissues so we are probably really close, haha. I am in ct
my friend found out that she got into carnegie mellon yesterday night at 12:00 and we were screaming up and down the hallway(#boardingschoollife) for half an hour ( this is such a happy holiday season… I hope you all get your wanted christmas gift ;)

What your favorite color and animal?

This thread is hilarious.

I guess I don’t like E-Readers because I can’t physically tell how much more I have to read (especially if it’s a boring book). I read Sir Gawain on an E-Reader, it was terrible. Not only was that book boring as hell, I couldn’t tell how much more I had!

The nook has a little progress type bar on the bottom :stuck_out_tongue: longer books aren’t too fun on it though, the fountainhead felt like eternity to read a few pages. I think almost all the other books I’ve read on it have been chuck palahniuk books which are pretty fast paced so I loved the nook for that  okay I’m rambling sorry!

You’re so not rambling, and even if you were, it’s alright!

I knew you were trouble when I met you.

VSFS #2013

Anyone get this random reference? lol

taylor swift? victoria’s secret fashion show 2013? reference?

lolwut pear

gaah who loves Murakami?
@International SO did not get that reference. I LOVE REFERENCES. huh?
I’m so strange.
favorite words?

Lol the things that I will do if I get in… But that will mostly likely not happen. Still depending on UChicago’s hostilic review to give me a glimpse of hope. Good luck guys!

@neontissues YES! Haha. The show is hardly a fashion show these days, though. It’s like a circus with top models and singers.

@headed2great I personally have pretty much stopped expecting anything. Signed my ED 2 agreement today (which, too, feels really ambitious :(.) Anyhoo, I think I was kidding myself applying to U of C. I hope I get deferred at least. At least I will know that I was considerable. That is enough for me for now.

Hey guys!!! No downer talk about your imminent deferrals or rejections or whatever!!

Anyone else here apply to Georgetown? I just got in  UChicago is definitely higher up on the list, though (tied with Columbia for top choice).

neontissues and I both applied, but neither of us have gotten our letters yet. Congratulations to you! She’s said UChicago is also higher for her, but Georgetown is my #1 (at least, my #1 US school), which is why I’m freaking out about getting my letter. Which school did you get into? I applied to SFS.

Alright guys, who broke the D rule? If we’re talking about those dinosaurs then we better be positive. It’s like none of you have seen the movie How To Train a Dragon…they’re not always scary. // ~ “HAPPY TIMES ☆ HAPPY THOUGHTS” ~ </p>

I’m sorry to be “that person”, but about 74 hours.

guys i got into babson college with 52 thousand a year!!! that’s like full ride omgomgomgomg so much monayyyy this is amazing i’m not gonna be broke when i graduate from college!!!

and yea, uchicago is my number 1, but georgetown is tied, along with claremont mckenna. whichever school is more financially generous is the one i’ll attend (given that i get into any of them)
