@Ctesiphon check your spam folder. And I wouldn’t jump to say this means anything, I highly doubt they would do that. Plus it’s geared towards prospective science majors so they wouldn’t send that email out to everyone.

and to the people who didn’t get it–i wouldn’t worry too much! I did put down psychology and neuroscience as two interests so perhaps they are just appealing to what science applicants wrote down.

i got the email

@awflapjackz out of curiosity, what major did you apply under? I just want to know if my reasoning is correct.

I applied for majors under Biological sciences and Psychology, and I didn’t get the email. The only reason I am not panicking right now is that they have such a large mailing list, it might just take time for them to send the email to all their applicants/people on the mailing list.

@gymnastmd i put down molecular engineering, undecided, and germanic studies

Yeah I also think it was only sent to people who indicated an interest in science.

I got it and I put down history so your theory is flawed^

I didn’t get the email- indicated interest in biology/chemistry. Strange…

Oh well idk then

Yeah I got the email and didn’t indicate that I wanted to major in any scientific field.

It must be in your spam folders, or some kind of fluke.

I think you guys are reading way too far into this email. Take a deep breath…

I didn’t get the email. I must have been rejected.

Idk, I think I’m just a little on edge. Probably not a big deal at all.

I also got this e-mail but it seems to mean nothing but typical advertisement mail. So do not panic. I did not even apply for science area.

Guys. This email has no bearing on our admission status. It’s just something to promote the university. Just because you did not get this email means you’re flat out rejected. Just relax, get off of CC, and enjoy your Sunday night.

Literally JUST got it (6:41)…must be sent out in waves.

Okay, about the email: I got it and I’m NOT applying! My kid is! They have my email from a previous college visit and routinely send me info as if I’m applying. My kid who IS applying did not receive it. (The email mentions Enrico Fermi, etc).

i don’t think it means anything. just the typical promotion that uchicago sends to random interested students

Guys three more days :((
I find it funny how I’ve been waiting for them to release when they’re going to release the decisions but now that they did, I don’t want the day to come xD
Everything seems so surreal right now

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE

btw I didn’t get the email but I don’t think it means anything so :)
