@booklady123 where did you see that information ?

They announced it on Twitter and Facebook.

@JBStillFlying, I think you said this on another thread, but for the life of me I can’t find it - how long did you say it was between receiving ED2 decision and receiving financial aid package? I seem to recall people saying that it was a bit quicker for ED2 than it was for ED1 folks…

Ours took about a week before it “appeared” on the portal. BTW, love the confidence!

@CU123, were you ED2 or 1? Also, I guess I appear more confident than I feel? X_X

@booklady123 - for some reason the fin. aid for EDII seemed to take longer than we wished! D17 wanted to enroll right away in order to get into the housing queue but it was at least a week for us. I called Fin. Aid. and they weren’t able to give me a direct answer so I think we just took the plunge and enrolled before seeing the amounts. You have no idea how relieved I was to see those grants!!!

Everything seems to be running a bit more rapidly this year, based on the EDI experience. Hopefully packages will be available within a few days at most.

@booklady123 ED2 and I hope the best for your son.

Thanks very much! I appreciate it. I really do believe that things happen for reason, and he’s got a great list of schools for regular decision. He’ll end up where he belongs eventually. But I still have my fingers crossed for tomorrow! Thanks everyone for all of the help and quick answers to silly questions.

Does anyone have any guess or prediction of how many people apply ED2? Is it going to be more than RD, or it doesn’t make any sense that ED2 has more application than RD?

There where 32,000 apps, and 13,000 of those where early. So a good guess is 2-4k ED2 apps with 15-17k RD apps.

And how many ED2 accpetances were we guessing again…?

it was 11,000 early apps, not 13,000. Nondorf corrected himself on the 2nd day of admitted students reception in NYC.

Assuming - what? - 2,200 acceptances total, if 60% are ED, then (2,200 *.6) - EDI = EDII.

We don’t know EDI because Nondorf didn’t disclose it. But we know that there seems to be an upper limit on total earlies of 1,100 - 1,200, like last year. If there is a 2:1 EDI:EA ratio, then that’s no more than 800 EDI. Therefore, EDII would be about 520 (say 500 - 550).

This is all a guess, btw.

@uocparent not trying to confuse this but didn’t Nondorf correct the 11,000 remark? No way did earlies decline by 2,000 this year!

He said 1,100 were admitted:

Yes, @jbstillflying thanks for correcting me! It was 13,000 early apps with 1100 accepted (compiling data from both days of admitted student events from people on upthread.)

So is there more app in ED1 or ED2? And is the acceptance rate has any big difference? Or ED1 and ED2 doesn’t really have any difference…?

@kl95070 - unknown. Last year they accepted 800 EDI which was 1/3 of the admitted class and a little less than 1/2 of the total enrolled. We don’t know what they did this year because they didn’t disclose it. However, the number of early applications was about the same as last year, as were total admitted. So it’s reasonable to conclude that roughly the same proportion is in EDI vs. EA this year but we simply don’t have a way of verifying at this point.

60% ED was based on a parent who spoke to admissions. That number didn’t come from Nondorf directly and may be wildly inaccurate.
