UChicago Financial Aid conundrum

<p>I think that is a really interesting and innovative idea, to have strictly education based colleges, with no bells and whistles. I read on a different thread that some of the “lower tier” schools are having difficulty filling their classes, and I wonder if market pressure won’t be brought to bear on these institutions, forcing some of them to begin to lower tuition to attract students. </p>

<p>Wow, you have it all figured out at 18. Nobody on here called the OP a privilaged kid, They said that the OP was lucky. Another poor 18 year old who had to endure so much, you poor thing. So you are going to come on CC when your older and help these poor kids right? Coddling them is not a helping. When you toughen up, you grow up. thats the problem with kids now days, they feel they are entittled. You are entittled to nothing! </p>

<p>UChicago is expecting 36K from me and my parents too -__- but, my dad does make a decent amount of money and has some in savings so it’s understandable. The trouble is that we have a lot of loans on our home and he’s near losing his job, so we can’t afford to spend our savings and our expenditure doesn’t leave much from his income</p>
