Rejected; I didn't expect otherwise so no big deal.
My strongest LOR never seemed to make it through, so I guess I'll always be left wondering if that would've made a difference.

yea im definitely not getting in...congrats p reepa those are some impressive stats

thanks ck. best of luck.

I was surprisingly accepted as well...congrats to those who got in...and those who didn't it isn't the end of the world...theres definitely many possibilities out there to explore

For all those who were accepted OR denied would you mind posting your stats here? I'm sure it will be very helpful for those of us who will be applying next year to have an idea of what our chances are.

hmm

High School:
3.7 GPA
Toughest course load...all IB curriculum
Good EC's with leadership.
32 ACT
I applied out of HS...got wait listed.

College: No-name state school...
3.95 GPA when applied...pretty tough course load...but very diverse courses.
Honestly...I had 1 EC...no leadership
Essays: I think they were very honest and not oddly quirky. I've read some things kids have wrote about...and honestly they seem strange. I stuck to the topics at hand and answered without trying to satisfy any expectation that the AdComm might have? I don't know if that makes sense...but I believe they were much better than my essays last year.

Finally, I think I presented a very compelling reason to transfer and my interview, which was on campus, was phenomenal. (And I think it helped a lot...I met with the Dean, my counselor, and had a great time with my interviewer)

Other than that, its luck. There are people who I know that would be great fit's at U of C, but didn't get in, and others who I think wouldn't that have...so yeah, good luck is all I can say.

From these numbers, it seems harder than last year by leaps and bounds.

As an RN applicant I am quite intimidated. Not only by the stats of those who got accepted, but more so by the impressive stats of those who got rejected.

Indeed, the applicant pool is stellar and there are only so many spots available. Such is life.

do you know where I can find those stats from last year neverborn?

i got in!!!!!!!

Hey, congrats!

thanks! i never really thought it was possible, i cant believe it

First, congratulations to everyone.

Second, OH MY GOD. Turns out that my second instructor report didn't get sent in, and possibly my SAT scores. My fault for not checking the credentials often enough, but GEEZ. (That probably wasn't the only reason; my GPA wasn't so hot, but I think I would at least have had a shot if it weren't for my stupid overlooking of crucial application components.)

Maybe I'll take a year off and apply during that year. And this time, get my act together.

There seems to be a weaker U of C transfer scene this year...last years was nuts

marta05, didn't Uchicago send you any kind of notification that you were missing parts of your application?

No, nothing. I've heard they call, but I get so many wrong numbers and solicitors calling my phone that I don't call back every single missed call, though I did keep an eye out for possible admissions calls.

This blows. I guess I'll never really know, and it was a waste of the fee money...

Not knock yourself about it...I'm sure you can make do and enjoy your current school....or transfer again next year?

Yeah...except I'm a sophomore now. I doubt they'd accept me if I were trying to transfer AS a junior.

I might finish this spring semester, take a year off, and apply during that year off. Chicago is just so amazing. And I have a hard time letting these things go.

bump 10char

so rd admission results will be given around the last week of may?
