In regards to career: What is the job placement like out of UChicago undergrad? Which companies do Chicago students place particularly well at/which companies heavily recruit Chicago students? How does UChic fare for business and tech careers?
In regards to grad school: How do Chicago students place in comparison to other students at top business (for MBA) and law schools? Does having UChic undergrad help or hurt with admission for UChic grad?
Help with any of the questions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
For finance, all of the major investment banks recruit at UofC undergrad with special emphasis on JPMorgan, Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs. I’m not too sure about consulting.
For grad school, I can’t talk about MBA or Law School with certainty, but I would guess they’re good?
UChicago is doing better in professional school placements. Law/Medical school admission is largely determined by the LSAT/MCAT and GPA, so UChicago’s grade deflation may somewhat hinder its students’ chances of getting in.
IIRC, the UofC’s average GPA is about a 3.4, approximately the same as many of our peers–so that shouldn’t be an issue so much today.
