@pwil7070 do you happen to know what’s the difference between Pre Law and Law, Letters and Society
Double major in Econ and Math or Math and Environmental Science
Just to add to the ‘low SAT score’ discussion - I have a friend at Yale whose suitemate had a SAT I score in the 1800s and was international. Not an athlete either.
I applied to UChicago, but even if I were to get in I think I’d turn it down - I got into Cambridge in the UK, and I prefer there I think.
Double major in Econ and Maths.
@pwil7070 that’s great so we’ll be in the same class?..if accepted ofc
@ammo96 I am not sure the difference but the student I talked to from the Young Center said there really is not much of a difference, just in the wording in the degree.
And I might be in the same class as @minastirith
All of you potential future lawyers out there, are you definitely gonna be going the pre-law track? I’m quite conflicted as I’ve seen people say things like “law schools hate pre-law majors”. Idk if this is true. I personally am likely not going down the pre-law track
@elaras Congrats on Cambridge, did not have the courage to apply. Besides UChicago is 3 1/2 hours from my house so if there is a weekend I don’t feel like doing laundry I can just drive home and have my mom do it…Am I the only one who is going between this [-O< and this 8-} emotion right now. Also thanks to my teachers who realize my last decision comes out today and has no problem with me being on my phone during class.
@fizzy110 I’ve read a lot of negative stuff about Pre-Law that’s why I’m having a non law-related major and then go to Law School
@pwil7070 for me, this is my first admission decision
@fizzy110 I spoke with Alex and my interiewer about that very thing. They said many if not most of the prelaw students apply and are accepted into the Law School at Uchicago, so they encourage Pre Law tract if that is your plan.
@ammo96, yeah exact same here. I also feel like I should go ahead and study something else I find interesting since I’ll have the chance to learn all the law stuff later on. And what if in the end I decide not to become a lawyer? I’m pretty damn sure I want to be one, but who knows maybe I’ll get to college and fall in love with astrophysics lol.
@elaras
I got into Cambridge too! But I already turned down Cambridge because I got into Stanford. (still keeping fingers crossed for UChicago and the Ivy League)
@fizzy110 wow, you’re just so much like me
@pwil7070 thanks for the info, even though I likely will not be taking the prelaw track, it really didn’t make sense to me that colleges would “hate” students showing early interest in the field.
@nerdfighter then may this also be your first acceptance.
@spiderwoman, wow you’re a college admissions heartbreaker - congrats on Stanford and Cambridge! You too @elaras!!!
@ammo96, you know what they say! Great minds think alike
@pwil7070 Thanks!
@fizzy110 No problem… I am taking Psychology also to have a back up.
