@hallowdreams Thank you, Good Luck, If you go to Uchicago tag me in here and maybe we can meet up in Chicago for pizza. The metra runs from Lake Forest to Uchicago. I
@vozvratsaa Great, congratulations ! Please tell us a bit about your essay and extra curriculars, or any other thing that you think made the difference.
Okay thanks~!!
Does anyone know if uchicago sends emails to check the portal to everyone or just people who are accepted/waitlisted?
From what i can tell, only about 10% of applicants are waitlisted…so those who are (like me are very much in the running.
Waitlisted with a 3.25 UW GPA and a 2370 SAT lol
I was waitlisted
Everyone who was waitlisted check out the thread from last year…it is very informative
Waitlisted 3.65/4.1 + 2380
@pwil7070 can you post a link?
WHAT THE HECK!!! I’m an international from the UK and because they hardly accept any internationals who need aid, I never expected in a million years to get in… crazy!! I still can’t believe it.
I want to say I’ve been really impressed with so much of the discussion and all of your credentials. The acceptance rates have dramatically changed since I was a college student. I can’t imagine the stress that so many of you feel. Keep your heads up. You should all have acceptances to some great schools, regardless of what happens here.
Waitlisted
GPA: 3.85/3.92
ACT: 33
My D just got an invitation to a reception honoring admitted students for the class of 2019. She still hasn’t gotten an email saying to check the portal. Exciting email must be pending! Good luck to all – and you might want to check your UofC status update!
Waitlisted
GPA: 3.96
ACT: 35
@PosAttitude Decisions all came out at 4PM CST, the emails were delayed. Her decision should be on her portal already
Does anyone know the process of one that is waitlisted? U Chicago is still one of my top choices and I would love to try anything that would give me a good shot of getting in.
OH MY GOD I GOT IN!
Can’t believe it, I keep refreshing the page expecting a rejection letter to appear in the acceptance letter’s place. Good luck to everyone who didn’t get in, and can’t wait to come to Chicago next year!
For future applicants: my GPA was bad (4.31 on a 5 scale) but I had a 34 on my ACT, was a national merit finalist, conducted a big research paper on the effects of money in politics, and wrote a great essay for the quirky essay option on my philosophy on how life should be approached.
Oh my god I got in!!! I never thought I would cry over a college acceptance but I’m bawling right now. I’m so shocked and happy
