<p>how did you get feedback about your application, just curious because I'd like to have the same whenever I get my decision for transfer.</p>

SATs: 800 Verbal, 670 Math, 760 Writing: 2230.
SAT IIs: 800 Literature, 800 US History, 800 World History.
ACTs: 32.
Extracurriculars: Literary Magazine EIC, Newspaper Editor, Drama Club (Actor, more productions than anyone), Spanish Club, NHS, National Hispanic Honors Society.
Awards: National Merit Commendation, Fairfield University Book Award.
Community Service: I TA'd at a mostly bilingual preschool for years, clocking over 100 hours.
GPA: 3.9 weighted out of...4.5?
All honors/APs in humanities/languages. I got a C- in Chem Honors sophomore year. My school doesn't rank.
White, Jewish male from a small, affluent public HS in North Jersey.
I think the essays and recommendations (I actually had 5) got me in...I also submitted alot of excellent poetry supplementally, and an ex-professor of Art History who I met at my great-aunt's birthday party wrote a recommendation.
Essay Topics:
Why Chicago?-Framed around the Oriental Institute, and how my infatuation with it on a family vacation led me to apply to Chicago. It then related the Oriental Institute to Chicago's character as an institution.
Favorite Things-Extensive, poetic essay about Glastonbury Abbey, and how imperfection creates art. It was framed with a reference from Proust's Swann's Way.
Extended Essay (What Does a Picture Want?)-I wrote about the cover of Madonna's 1984 Like a Virgin album, and how its ultimate irony was the amount of substance in the image, and how it all related to the irony intrinsic in our consumer-based society.</p>
