Reasons for wanting to transfer are mostly financial. UChicago gave me a really bad aid package to begin with. But my family is experiencing some financial difficultues and UChiacgo refuses to change my aid package to adequately reflect my current fianancail situation. The academics are amazing, but it is not worth $70,000 in loans, which i would have to take out if I continue to attend here.

Questions: Is it worth taking the SAT over?

Chances for Following Schools:
Columbia (First Choice)
Penn
Georgetown
Berkeley?

I intend on attending law school, if this means much...

If you are an out of state student, then don’t count on Berkeley for financial aid.

I don’t know if Columbia, Penn, and Georgetown are need blind for transfers or not. (You will have to call and ask). If the schools are need aware, then it will reduce already unlikely chances for all transfer applicants. The college board lists transfer statistics on its website.

I know that some transfers on college confidential have had good luck with financial aid from Emory, Vanderbilt, and Wellesley.

Good luck!

If your state of residency is GA, it will cost you 50k+ to attend UCB as an OOS student.
