You’re getting in

that’s what I thought last year but things didn’t work out so well… i don’t know I want some serious criticism

You have an awesome record! If you already applied and weren’t accepted, my first thought is how confident are you in your essays? I don’t think there’s a problem with any of what you’ve posted about here (although I’m definitely not an admissions officer)

My essays weren’t terrible - I had them looked over and edited by a tutoring company that does this stuff all the time. I was lacking in my extracurricular last year but I’ve made up for that now. My only worry is that the university won’t see my new extracurricular as a last ditch effort. I hope my three officership a show I’m actually doing something valuable there but idk.

i meant to say will see*

@cali2387 hey, so did you made it to Uchicago finally? i read your status from last year that you were a freshman, so I assume we are in the same year, i’, a sophomore at UIUC as well. i want to transfer to Uchicago as a econ major this year too, though I’m an architecture major now.

Actually it is much more competitive to transfer for Uchicago than apply as freshman. The acceptance rate is only 1% for transfer students.

artloversplus thanks for pointing out that statistic. That’s why I didn’t even bother applying. I would STRONGLY advise anyone thinking of Chicago to apply as a freshman.
