UChicago v Cornell v Cal

As stated in one of my previous posts, I have the other factors (location, class sizes, majors) figured out, but I just need help measuring prestige. Which of these is most prestigious/reputable? Please note what specific way it is more prestigious: world prestige, academic prestige among employers, prestige among non-academic world.

Thank you!

Will vary by region and will vary by employer. Employers are not some monolithic group of people.

As said above. However, there are a couple of things that you can say. For example, consider that UChicago doesn’t have an engineering program, etc, etc, etc. Anyways prestige is, despite what USNews thinks, not measurable in some objective way. Just look at the schools and find which school will best represent your interests.

All three are pretty much the same in prestige.

UChicago has 978 milliHarvards (mH) of prestigiosity, Cornell has 980 mH, and Cal is at only 900 mH. (Source: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parents-forum/1457519-is-it-time-to-revise-the-prestigiosity-ratings-the-original.html)

I think the clear choice is Cornell; if you attend UChicago, and have to compete for a job with a Cornell grad, a prospective employer will consult their prestigiosity table and throw away your application right away.
