I will go to one of these three colleges and plan on visiting them in the next two weeks or so, but I am currently being pulled equally in three different directions. I realize that these schools are very different, but what do you think are the pros and cons of each? The opinions of informed CC people are valuable to me. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks!

Forget Cornell.
I'd go to Chicago or Rice depending upon the major. Houston is much warmer than Chicago, and that is a plus.

It would help if you give us your major and/or preferences to make an assessment.

I would like to major in biochem and Mandarin (either double major or major/minor). I realize that all three are very strong in the biosciences.

davidav87, why should I forget about Cornell?

Yeah, why should ElectronicError forget about Cornell??

Upstate New York.... =

And what exactly is the problem with Upstate NY?

It's easily one of most beautiful areas in the country, especially when it snows. You even get the fall foliage like Vermont is famous for (except in NY), and there is plenty to do if you just look for it. Sure it's not as bustling as NYC, but few places are.

As you can probably guess, I'm from Upstate.
