UChicago Waitlist and Second Semester Grades

Hey all,

I was waitlisted from UChicago and was wondering if second semester grades are considered during the selection process for those on the waitlist.

I was also wondering if anyone has a good estimate of what percentage of applicants were waitlisted and what the chances of getting off are.

Thanks

As someone who has also been waitlisted, I’ve done extensive research and can’t seem to find anything that helps come to the conclusion of what our chances are and if we should even send our transcript once more.

The decision for waitlist is based on a wholistic review of your entire application package. The second semester grades could, but probably had very little weight.

It is purely a numbers game with only 1450 spots +/-. Being put on the waitlist means that you would be a good fit for UChicago.

With regards to an offer of admission while on the waitlist, typically is 1% or less. The pool is drastically cut down in size, but may only take a handful of applicants.

Best of luck to all.
