<p>That's the rumor I've heard, at least. I visited campus in April, and it was pretty serious. Quiet.</p>

<p>Nowadays, UChicago seems to have changed a LOT. On the spectrum of top schools, it probably veers more toward serious, but it’s on the spectrum. The school has broader appeal now and the city of Chicago is great. </p>
<p>Years and years ago, it was a very different place. Now, that’s not really the case.</p>

<p>That’s, to some extent, untrue as well. UChicago now has significant grade inflation. Maybe not as much as Harvard or Brown, but comparable to Duke or Columbia.</p>
<p>Well, <em>I</em> had a lot of fun there. Too much, in fact. :D</p>
