Hi, my daughter is also going to the June 12th orientation. We are flying in on the 10th, as I understand placement testing is on the 11th and then orientation on the 12th. Greenville mom, my daughter did not mention about the parent's orientation. I will have to sign-up for that tomorrow. By the way, congratulations on our kids' decisions. I think that they made a very good choice!

cece
welcome to the Gamecock family!
Just so you know, its possible if you want to save a day, to fly in and make it to testing on the same day..S did it.Theres a range of times to show up for testing with a final admit time, and S made it to that time after a morning flight (maybe it was 3:00 or so?).They wanted to stay the night after Orientation instead, have that evening to wander around and some time the next day.

Cece,
I think the parents' orientation was part of the on-line sign-up. There was a cost of $30 per parent,I believe. I think that the parent orientation is a separate program that runs at the same time as the students..parents are in info sessions while students are registering, etc. Parents can also stay in Capstone House for a fee. If you go online you can go under orientation and modify your D's request to add parents.

Sorry this is so late. Finally made it to Party City. The plates that are in stock are kinda ugly (too busy) They are garnet with small black USC all over. They also have a huge Gamecock and South Carolina Gamecocks written on them. The 9" plates are $2.99 for 8 plates. The luncheon nabkins are also $2.99 for 24. I bought the solid garnet and black plates/napkins with garnet silverware. Less expensive and looked nicer. The cocktail napkins were $1.99 for 50, the Luncheon napkins were $$2.69 for 50, 7" plates were $1.99 for 24, 9" plates were $2.49 for 24. The silverware is $1.99 for 24 . They have gamecock aprons, yard banners, streamers, gift wrap, etc. Hope yall have a great trip!

The various independent bookstores around the campus have anything you could imagine or want as far as Gamecock paraphernalia, plates, cups, banners etc. There's one near the Strom and several others including the one in Russell House. we ended up picking up things from each as I recall.

We bought pom-poms to decorate tables, a banner, pennants and plates etc for her graduation party. Had the head table decorated half and half with things from her HS and from USC.
