UCI Acceptance

Yesterday representatives from the UCI School of Business said they have accepted 100 freshmen, 15 UCI transfers, and is accepting fewer than 15 regular transfers.

Hmm can’t find it. It seems as though U.C tv took down the video for some reason it was a conference for 2009 transfer counselors and iirc the UCI rep said that there would only be 15 transfer slot available and if you were to apply for it you should advice your students to have a near 4.0

Reasoning-- UCI’s business school will basically accept Haas level applicants and those who fail to get into haas goes to UCI’s school. 15 applicants 300+ applicants = a very low acceptance rate.

All this is speculation though if your counselor think you have a good shot then good luck. All we’re saying is don’t get your hopes up it’s like applying to Haas it’s a crapshoot

it’s been said a million times now and it’s really unfortunate, but counselors from cc don’t always give you realistic (sometimes even untrue) advices and insights.

Can someone chance me real quick please, uci is getting me pretty nervous to find out

major: biz econ
gpa: 3.93
pre-reqs… im taking calc 1 now and expecting to take calc 2 at the uc
essay fairly good

**** dude i’ll never get in at this point.

I have 3.4 and taking cal1 now and cal2 on summer…

I think I have low chance at UCI

but I have tag to UCSB… will see…

I’m still the 4.0 philosophy major from a community college so don’t worry too much, it’s a waiting game for all of us. Irvine especially is lagging pretty hard lol

yea i don’t really have my hopes up. if anything, they’ll probably accept me for the alternate major i put down which is business econ.

do you guys think it would be better to do biz econ at ucla or biz admin at uci? everyones been telling me to go to ucla but i dont think many people understand how hard it is to get into uci as a biz admin major.

Ucla would be the better choice if you got in. More foundation and better networking. UCI biz admin is relatively new and hasn’t had a graduation class yet but you never know it might be big in next coming years. Also consider the curriculums too (econ vs. bizadmin).

Got accepted to Irvine

Major: Psychology and Social Behavior
GPA: 3.5
NO TAG

when did you check it?!? mine is still under review =/ do u guys think they will release some more on Monday?!?

i found out last week… i got an email saying my status has changed.

It seems like everyone who has been accepted found out a few weeks ago which means that they release them in bunches every couple of weeks like UCSD. I’ve gotten into UCSD, just waiting for UCI soon and UCSB letter coming March 22nd any beyond.

Then it’s UCLA, Cal and Davis.

After attending the CHP program yesterday, learning all of the perks that are involved with being in the CHP and knowing that I will be getting the Regents scholarship, I am really leaning towards UCI over UCLA/CAL at this point. (Given that I don’t get selected in their honors program come April)

Really loved the orientation yesterday and the overall environment of UCI.

Well UCI pretty much comes after UCB, UCLA and UCSD and above the rest as far as UCs go, it’s a really good school. Although I do wish they would just come out with all the decisions even for us who are more than likely in, it’s nerve wracking :(

UCI Business is harder to get into than Haas lol. Good luck to those that get in.

anyone got acceptance today?

If not, when do you guys think new batch will be out?

My best guess would be on friday.

I think it would be largely inefficient if they were to release acceptances on a day-to-day basis. It makes more sense for them to release batches at the end of the week.

Agreed. I think they do what UCSD does, every two weeks there’s a batch.

Like I got my acceptance to UCSD on the first day and then the letters stopped, they’ll kick up in a week and a half or so. Contrarily, I didn’t get my UCI acceptance yet neither has anyone since last week so it should be Friday or next week sometime.

^Same. Heard from SD, but not I. Maybe Friday?
