My applicant status for UCI was updated today. It stated “… we want to provide you the opportunity to be included on the freshman waitlist.”
However, I applied as a transfer student. Is there a difference between a freshmen waitlist and a transfer waitlist?
If I decide to place my name on the waitlist, do get accepted, and register, does that mean I am transferring as a Freshmen to attend the school for 4 years to receive my bachelors?
Must be a mistake. There are separate Freshman and Transfer waitlists. I would contact UCI admissions for clarification.
I also got the same statement in my waitlist decision letter and went looking through forums for an answer. Please update me if you figure it out 
I just spoke with UCI admissions via online chat, and she said it was a mistake that should be fixed soon.
