UCI Admissions Released?

Many of my friends at school already recieved admission to University of California Irvine, however my status is still "being evaluated." UCI isn't my top choice, but I'm just curious. Is it normal for a college only to release their admission information in waves? How do they judge who recieves the news and who doesn't? If not, should I be concerned?

Yup, some schools release their information in waves, and UCI happens to be one of them.

Does UCI send out the “waves” by when you sent in your app? If so, I sent mine in on Nov.17th and I have not received anything.

^ I sent mine in about that time as well and I haven’t heard anything either

I received an email today about my UCI Financial Aid. Does this mean I will be accepted or does everyone get this if they applied for FAFSA?

I got the same email but I don’t think that means you are automatically accepted

Apparently the first wave that they send out (which was last week or last last week) are all acceptances for people with high stats. Then they send out second wave to the next people with high stats and then continue on until they send out rejection letters… That’s what I have heard so far and people are saying that if you don’t get an email from UCI by mid-March, you’re most likely rejected.

Also, receiving the UCI Financial Aid doesn’t mean you’re accepted. You need to receive an email saying your admission status has change. The people in my school who has been accepted have received an email like that and when you go onto your UCI admission account thing, the status should have changed too.

You’ve heard wrong.

I heard they come out in a random manner …

has the second wave come out yet?

I heard UCI have sent out invitation letters to their CHP (campuswide honors program) already, good luck …
