UCI Admissions

Hello,

Second semester of senior year is about to begin and I was wondering if my choice for classes would impact my admission chance into UCI.

1st Semester: AP: Calc,Lit,CompSci,Gov + Psychology 101 from local Community College
2nd Semester: ^ Same + Aide + Early Release…

Any input?

  1. Were these classes listed as planned on your UC application?
  2. Are these classes different than originally planned and listed on your UC application?

If you made any changes to your class schedule since you applied, you need to email admissions with your changes.
From the UC Website:

If there are changes to your academic record…

Freshmen: If you change schools, add or drop a course, or fail to earn a C or better in a course after you submit your application, you must notify the UC Application Center by email or postal mail. Your correspondence must include your name, UC Application ID number and your signature (if you mail a letter), and will be available to all the campuses to which you applied.

Thank you @Gumbymom! But I was leaning towards more of a TA Period/Early Release dramatically decreasing my chances if my test scores are high and extra-currics are decent?

Having a TA position or early release is fine. You have a rigorous enough schedule, you can afford to take a break. Younger son had a free period in the morning during Senior year and Older son TA’d last period Senior year.

@Gumbymom Thank you so much for your help!

@Gumbymom if you don’t mind me asking, where did your son’s end up attending?

Older son is at UC Davis, younger son at SDSU.
