UCI admitted!! finally LOL..taking 28 units too

If you end up at Berkeley the 28 units you’re taking will let you know at least to an extent what it is like here (maybe for UCLA too).

Good training if anything!

Man I thought I was baller with my 26 units, here you are with your 28. To my surprise though, this whole a butt load of units thing is surprisingly easy if you don’t work. I slack off consistently and still manage nearly all As. If I worked though this would be hell.

bmwbeemerz

I’m surprised no-one has asked yet, but I am sooo curious, WHAT CLASSES ARE YOU TAKING?? haha…I thought I had it bad with my 15 units, but they are the hardest classes I have ever taken, and I commute, and work 8-10 hours a week :/

Yeah even at 22 units(with two lab classes) I’m slacking off big time and still pulling almost all A’s…Only one B+ right now in Chem 401 but an A’s definitely still in reach. I also work like about 8-10 hours on the weekend but yeah…

my god that’s a load of units

I’m glad I don’t work. I get stressed out very easily, but I do find my load (19 units) not that difficult. I slack off a lot…:///

…do need a job for Summer tho…

^Same, I need to find another job this summer so I can save up some money before I leave. Also I’ll probably end up spending about half the money I earn this summer on concerts xP

To be honest, last semester was my toughest! I was taking 17 units and working full-time at Nordstrom (100% commission-based job…very stressful but I love it). They were my hardest classes and I still managed a 4.0 but wow it was tough!

Currently with my 28 units (9 classes) I am taking:

1)Nutrition
2)Computer Info Systems
3)Philosophy
4)Ceramics
5)American Cinema
6)World Cinema
7)Physical anthropology
8)Archaeology Anthropology
9)College Algebra

I am really enjoying my current classes. I still work at Nordstrom but I do not work as many hours. I spend most of my entire week at school. Anyone else taking a lot of classes??

i noticed u have 2 anthro classes and 2 cinemas… does it make it a bit easier to have similar classes?

I believe the two Anthros and Cinemas would make it slightly easier to manage! Good idea… Especially if one has any background in chemistry or biology… Are you taking those 28 units at different community colleges?

I am actually taking all 28 units at the same CCC (Chaffey Community College in Rancho Cucamonga)! I considered taking them at different colleges but i figured it would be too much to worry about and to manage.

Oh yea! And taking the two cinema classes and the two anthro classes has made it easier for me to manage 28 units. Especially because on Tuesdays and Thursdays I start with my American Cinema Class and then I go to my World Cinema Class. After that I go to my Anthro 1 class and then off to me Anthro 2 class. This way I have cinema on my mind for two classes in a row and then I have anthropology on my mind for two classes. It really helps a lot, but I must admit that I do confuse them at times and I sometimes mix info between classes LOL. One perk is that sometimes the info overlaps and I already know stuff from the previous class!! :)

yeah… im sure that helps a lot then! i have 4 classes in a row and NONE are related so its hard for me to concentrate on one, which sucks… its like im getting high school senioriitis again =P

^
I think I am too. Thankfully it’s Spring Break and I could get it out of my system, and hopefully even do some work while I’m at it!

Only about two more months for me. Might have to do summer courses, but only two…man, I’m hyped…kind of. LOL.

I take three classes in a row on T&Th, and I think that’s tough. LOL. Thank goodness for fast-trak/online classes. [:

Summer classes are cool though, the pace is so fast that it feels like a quick decisive battle instead of a long drawn out siege. This will also be the case for most of these UCs that have the quarter system, I can’t wait! Long and drawn out semesters are quite irritating.

Why are you taking college algebra? Don’t you need stats to transfer?

College Algebra is what we need to transfer. College Algebra is wayyy harder than stats. All the kids who failed College Algebra are taking stats instead.

thats funny bmw, its the exact opposite at my CC lol. I have friends who are tutors at the LRC and everytime i go with them its nothing but stats students. What sucks even more is they only have 2 stats tutors lol.

most at my school just go for calc or life/science calc. Seriously most of the science majors require it anyways, and its easier to get it done at a CC.

so we have a visual anthropology enthusiast. this will be useful if you plan on doing your research or dissertation in foreign countries where you need to document things through film
