ACT: 27
SAT: 1840 (will retake in Oct)
GPA: weighted- 4.33 unweighted-3.89
Extracurriculars: Soccer for 10 years (5 in club, 2 years in high school soccer before injury), volunteering at summer camp, volunteering at my church, work
Major: Econometrics and Quantitative Economics

UCI and UCSB are the only UCs that have my specific major, so those are my top choices, but I am still considering applying to other schools. What are my chances?

You’ll definitely get into both UCI and UCSB, but again, it’ll depend on if you take any AP’s? Your SAT and ACT is about average, but it’s acceptable.

Is your weighted GPA posted, the UC GPA (Weighted)?? If not, calculate your GPA using the following link:<a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;
If you check the Freshman profile for UCSB:: Average GPA was 4.03 ACT of 29 SAT of 1923
For UCI: Average GPA was 4.05 ACT of 27 SAT of 1880
You are around the 50 percentile for both schools but by no means a sure thing. UCSB’s admissions are more holistic than UCI’s so essays will be an important part of your application. You do have a good chance and hopefully your SAT retake will be higher.
UCI/UCSB: High Match
