To anyone who is trying to appeal, please post on this thread so we can all be kept updated about what is going on. Good luck to everyone appealing
hopefully weâll get notified before june! i remember reading about some people waiting until august (yikes!)
iâm also trying to appeal!
if everyone doesnât mind, could we all post our stats??
i just feel like alot of us deserved to get in but didntâŠ
Trying to appeal as well. Hope everyone started their process already.
does anyone know if there is a word count? canât find it on their website. also, if anyone has any advice please share!
Iâm appealing as well
im glad you made this post! UCI rejected me and it was my first choice. It was very unexpected, considering ppl with lower scores than me got in. Im appealing, letâs hope for the best.
I am appealing as well. Does anyone know what were the lowest scores (SAT, GPA) of the students accepted this year at UCI? Does acceptance depend on the majors you have selected? Anyone who has been accepted, please share our stats so that we know our chances.
I meant, anyone who has been accepted at UCI, please share your stats so that we know our chances.
I got accepted to Korean Lit and Culture with a 3.79 and a 30 ACT. My ECs werenât typical, I went through major hardships (that was the year my GPA dropped .5 OTL), and my Essays were unique, well-written, and very witty according to all who read them. Iâm also OOS.
In the case of people with lower stats getting accepted, remember that admissions are holistic, and stats donât tell the whole story.
I got accepted to chemistry with a 1690 sat 25 ACT but I think my 4.2 UC GPA and pretty good essays made up for it⊠Also got into davis but Iâm still debating on which school to go.
Rejected with a 2280 SAT, 3.3 UW 3.75 W, 800/730/700 SAT IIâs, and 8 total APs (all 4âs and 5âs).
ECâs and community service arenât superb, but decent.
I had a major grade drop Junior Year with 2 Câs and 2 Dâs that I did not âproperly address or explainâ anywhere in my application/essays - likely why I was rejected.
Not sure if I should appeal ⊠considering that I wasnât even waitlisted.
However, I did have a dramatic GPA improvement (4.4/4.6) first semester of senior year, though Iâm not sure if that would help towards my appeal.
Thank you all for letting us know your stats. I was rejected with 2090 SAT, 3.6 GPA, AP Chem in Jr. Yr and approx 200 work hours and 200 community hours. I only took one AP because that that is all my school offered. I think it is because I did not take any subject test. GPA is now 3.81 in the first sem sr. Yr. Any suggestion for appeal?
Iâd like to remind everyone that the deadline for freshmen appeals are 15th of April!
So I sent my appeal letter on the 2nd and was curious how long it takes for them to change my statuse to pending or how I can check if they received it or not?
how long was your appeal?
Just one page. I took a few hours writing a 4 page letter then realize the amount of people appealing and how they wouldnât want to read so much so I condensed it
I was rejected in march, had 4.0 Wgpa, 2060 SAT (800 math 700 writing 560 CR)
Took a total of 7 APs including senior year, 4 not including
didnât pass 2, passed the other 2
had tons of community service (over 1k hours)
was on board of 4 clubs, including leadership positions
applied as a business admin major
i heard from someone that applying for an impacted major DOESNT hurt you, but applying for an unusual major does help you. they apparently accept or reject you, and THEN place you into your major. so if they were to accept me, and more business admin majors are more qualified than me, i would have been accepted as an undeclared major.
Yes, thatâs correct. Your preferred major choice is not considered when the admissions are reviewing your application, they either reject or accept you first and then place you into your chosen major If you meet the criteria and If there are vacancy, If not, you are assigned to undeclared undergraduate.
I asked the admission office, they said there isnât a fixed date on when we are going to hear about the appeals since they are treated as case-by-case basis, but most likely by June.
Note: On UCIâs appeal page It says âReviews will be completed within four to six weeksâ.
FYI: appeals donât work unless there was a technical error. Even then, you would have to wait for someone similar to you to decline their admission.
Just because you donât like their decision, doesnât mean that that will change. How can they offer admission to all of the 60K+ people whoâve applied? They have to cut and purge.
Sorry, hate to be real, but you need to move on to another school if you werenât accepted.
