UCI as one of top choices - chance me

Apart from USC and UCLA, UCI is one of my top choices. Would likely choose UCI over USC/UCLA.

I'm basically another terrified senior of the decreased enrollment (and also my borderline stats). I'd really appreciate it if you guys chanced me.
CA resident, 3.5 UC gpa, 1860 SAT, 700 US history, 670 literature, 600 math
exceptional essays (only thing I'm really proud of), not-bad ECs, two years of track.

i personally you are pretty much dead on average. Like 50/50.

The Average SAT is where he’s at but How is a 3.5 close to the average accepted?? (3.92)

I would definitely say slight reach

The GPA really hurts your chances…

With that GPA you need some really really good EC’s or some good essays.
Captain of your school football team or (better yet AND) class president, you can get in.

Because we all know UCI just loves football. Hell, we’re undefeated.

I have decent EC’s, but I write really well and my essays are exceptional. hope the essay will be the deciding factor.

Zairair- I didnt mean get drafted on a football scholarship lol
It just shows extra commitment to make up for the GPA.

Although UCI’s volleyball, waterpolo, soccer, baseball, etc. have made a few exceptions for excellent athletes I think.

you have a chance

hope the essays work for u man!

I don’t think any of the UCs aside from Berkeley and Los Angeles even consider the essays…

I don’t think so, they do read at UCI.

Especially for the competitive programs like business, biology and computer engineering.
