UCI below 3.2 gpa???

I just found out UCI raised the TAG 2012 gpa requirement to 3.2. I have a 3.03 before fall...What are my chances of getting in without tag but with a 3.2 gpa after fall semester? Please help!

Its probably going to be a bit of a hurdle. According to the stats you can generate at [University of California: StatFinder](http://statfinder.ucop.edu/statfinder/drawtable.aspx?track=1), the average admit GPA at UCI has been around 3.4 for the last 5-10 years. Of course average doesn’t matter to you, what matters is how low they will go; an average is made up of values above and below the number.

I suggest you make an appointment with a counselor at your CC to go over your situation.

they raised it T___T I’m heartbroken :(

where does it say they have raised it?

nevermind. i just say it… [Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)](http://www.admissions.uci.edu/admissions/tag.html)
i currently have a 3.3 and i am taking one summer course… yikes! i am cutting it close!!

good for you!

i found out i have a 3.1. I still didn’t make it to the cutoff. :(

wow. im so sorry. it is getting much more difficult every year. the transfer center counselor at my school said that they had a massive over load of tag qualifiers last year since it was the first year that they did the full TAG process online and that is why everyone raised the minimum requirements and limited students to one school to TAG.

Hi. I’m new here so I just want to know more about certain things. When do you apply for TAG?

You can get more info at http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/guarantee/index.html</a> or by visiting the xfer center at your school

Thanks  is UCI very competitive when selecting TAG applicants?

Can you clarify what you are asking? TAG is a guarantee, no selection involved. Complete a TAG agreement and your chances of admission are 100%. The only catch I can think of is the program is not available for all majors.

Ohhh okay thankss. Cause I’ve seen cases on college board in which the TAG applicant didn’t get admitted… but maybe it was because they didn’t complete a requirement.

I’m a freshman right now so I would have to apply for TAG next year in September right?
