UCI Bio Transfer: My Chances and questions...

Hi, this is my first post on the forums. I know there are like several threads about "chances" getting into a UC, but I don't where to put mine. Also, I do have some specific questions. Anyway here is where I stand:

Transfer: Preferably UCI
CC: Orange Coast College (OCC)
GPA: 3.3 (at the moment)
Major: Bio Chem and Molecular Bio
EC Activities: Internal VP of Vietnamese Student Association (VSA)
Other: Alpha Gamma Sigma and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, OCC Silver Certificate of community and club services

I have about 1 more year left at this CC (for a total of around 3 years) :(. Anyway, my question is do you need a B in both semesters of general chem to be able to transfer as a bio major? The reason I am asking this is because that's what a UCI rep told me, but I've looked the school's transfer curriculums and it doesn't say that. Also, I have a C in chem... If you cannot answer that for me, please tell me my chances, thank you.

I'm a biochem major too :) When I submitted application, my gpa was just 3.3. But I got in UCLA, UCSD and UCI. So I think you'll be fine:) You can even try UCB, cuz your ec is quite decent.

I'm not sure about your question on general chem, cuz I got A's for all of them. However, I think adcoms don't strictly follow these guidelines. I can tell you my case. Before I applied, I read some UC's bio/chem departments' websites that they required 2.5 or above for the o-chem sequence. All I got for the whole sequence is just 2.18. I thought I had no chance, but I got in. Well, but I have to retake the whole o-chem sequence tho . > <

i think to be eligibible for the paif for uci u need a B on your chem.

Yeah, I saw that in the Paif flyer, but I didn't know if it applied to the regular transfer...Anyway, thanks for your comments shirley. I can relax a little now I guess.
