UCI Business Econ or USC Business Admin for undergraduate degree

Hi everyone,

I recently got accepted by both UCI Business Econ and USC Business Admin and am debating which one I shall go with.

UCI Business Econ major:
Pro:
they offered financial aid and pretty much waived tuition.
Nice campus and neighborhood.
Con:
Not my most preferred major.

USC Marshall School Business Admin major:
Pro:
My most wanted major
Highly ranked program
Con:
Haven't gotten the financial aid info update yet and the tuition is high.
Safety concern around the campus.

I used to have working experience in procurement and would love to pursue a career in similar area. Would those two different majors affect my future job hunting? Some people say Business Admin has very low employment rate in today's market. With an econ major, probably I could also have potential in finance/bank market, at least more option. I am not sure whether I would go for MBA afterwards. Please kindly share some of your thoughts.

Thank you very much.

I would go with USC if you can afford it just because of their alumni network and the fact that they’re rising in rankings very quickly. They’re hiring faculty and researchers from Harvard, Caltech, UCLA, etc.

I would also choose USC over any UC except Cal and UCLA and of course Cal tech and Stanford. And I believe when you get you your bus ad degree there’s emphasis such as Biz Econ, Marketing, Finance, etc…

Edit: Plus no budget cuts … ^^
