-president of the ultimate Frisbee club

During my junior year, I contracted mononucleosis which damaged my GPA severely and kept me from participating in badminton my junior year. I received a supplemental questionnaire from UCSD about the issue but not from UCI. My sophomore year grades are a 4.1 average, but my junior year was a 3.8. I believe that the admissions offices are taking the issue into consideration on my application, but I have no idea how much it will affect my chances.

Currently, my only concern of getting in is my GPA which is not too much below the average for engineering but enough so that it could prevent me from getting accepted. My SAT is above average and hopefully will offset the effects of my GPA. Any responses would be greatly appreciated!

I don’t think you will get in but i wouldn’t be shocked. You have pretty decent stats for Irvine but your applying for engineering which is significantly harder. Maybe 25% if I had to throw a number out there but I could be way off.
Best of luck!

UCI: Low Reach/High Match
Your SAT is on target but UC GPA just a tad low. UCI really likes their UC GPA’s of 4.0+ especially for Engineering.
Also a little light on HS course rigor. Outstanding essays may help.

Good Luck.
