UCI -> Chicago

Hey, I'm going to be applying as a transfer for Fall 2007 as a Sophomore from the University of California,Irvine , with these stats:
High School :
3.2 UW w/ a total of 10ish AP classes taken
2017 SAT I , 800/730/630 Math II/US History/Biology SAT IIs

College Stats:
DNA TO ORGANISMS BIO SCI 93: A
SAFETY AND ETHICS BIO SCI 194S: Pass
HUMANITIES CORE LEC HUMAN 1A: A
HUMANITIES CORE WRT HUMAN 1A: A-
GENERAL CHEMISTRY CHEM 1A: A+
Which gives me a 3.93 , and i made dean's list, which probably means nothing to Chicago, but w/e. I am very confident that I would be able to maintain this GPA or higher next quarter, since my classes are essentially a continuation of this

College ECs: Quiz Bowl, Have been working in a lab that studies the period of Late Life in organisms, with focus on Drosiphila (Getting Credit for it next quarter)

High School ECs: Debate Team (co-captain), Academic Superbowl, Freshman Mentor, Volunteer work

Awards: 12+ Debate Meet awards, Debate State Quarterfinalist, AP Scholar w/ Distinction, Science Olympiad, etc.

I'm fairly confident I can secure good recommendations from my professors (though I'm not all that chummy w/ them, but they know me tho), and my essays will be good (not being arrogant, just saying). It goes without saying that my high school record is a sham, but I'm hoping to impress upon them that I kinda got the kick in the ass I needed to start working in school, and would probably discuss this in one of my essays (if given the opportunity). I would welcome what you guys think, or if you have any suggestions in general. Thanks a lot!

With your current college GPA and courses, and with good essays you will have a good chance.

oh great, thanks. anyone else?

considering your upward trend of GPA into college, I'm sure u have a great chance. how'd u do 2nd semester senior year? That usually means a lot to colleges for transfer students

oooh just about as badly as I did in the rest of high school unfortunately :(

what is bump?

reviving threads that fall back down the current viewed list

i think you have a plenty good chance. you'll have to go the extra mile to make up for poor highschool grades...write your admissions rep, spend lots of time on the essays, get an interview, if possible.

Good chance, but I hope you know that your courseload at UChicago is going to be much, much more challenging.
