UCI CHP vs. UChicago for biology

I was wondering how comparable the UCI CHP is to UChicago. I plan on majoring in biological sciences at either school, so my questions are how does the intensity of the courses compare, are there many research opportunities at UCI even though its so large, how do the professors compare, will I even get professors at either school or just TA's, and which school would better prepare me for med school (assuming I put in maximum effort at either of the schools). Also, if there are other factors you think I should consider in making this choice, feel free to bring it up.

I'm having a tough time deciding between these two, and I need to figure it out pretty soon because May 1st is fast approaching. so any help would be greatly appreciated :)

How many students do you think took biochemistry at both UCI and UChicago and could compare?

Both schools are heavily research oriented. You can find plenty of research at either school.

teaching? research? If it matters, a professor I’m doing research with (in the chem department) was debating between being a professor at UCI or Uchicago. she chose irvine.

Both will prepare you fine. the real question is on your end. no one on some internet message board is going to be able to answer that.

Cost. location. type of students.

I’ve heard (rumor mill!) that uchicago students are dorky… like, will memorize all of dante’s inferno and quote it in conversations to be quirky. Talking to some neruobio graduate students, they’ve told me some horror stories about SENIOR biology majors being complete morons…
