Usually, a bunch of negative drama happens over the internet, but the people in this thread are seriously the nicest and most supportive people I’ve talked to online.

@caydee I did too, I woke up and was surprised that there was no email :(

1st choice: sdsu (waitlisted)
2nd choice: ucsc (accepted!!)
3rd choice: uci (waiting)
4th choice: cal state long beach (accepted)
5th choice: ucsd (accepted)

so I guess i am content since i made it into ucsc but still want to wait for uci because I’m still not sure. Deciding between uci and ucsc so the sooner uci send the decisions the better!

@harromika my second pick was UCSB, but I got wait listed. I was accepted to UCSC and rejected from UCD. I was accepted to all of my CSUs (Long Beach, SF, SDSU and Fullerton) so if I got rejected from Irvine, I would send in my intent to enroll at Long Beach and attend there if my UCSB wait listing didn’t work out. I would choose CSULB over UCSC because I really want to live in So-Cal.

@Steponme111, why would you choose ucsc over ucsd? btw, what major?

On UCI’s Twitter Account, it stated “It is possible that additional decisions are released this week.” Really? So, folks, as I learned a long time ago, patience is a virtue. God has a plan for all!

@yoyome
I am majoring in astrophysics and ucsc is top 6 for astrophysics nationally (beats Cornell) and ucsc won lots of awards for their astronomy department. I heard they are well know world wide for this department! Ucsd does not have astronomy department as is better known for engineering. Ucsc is number 2 for research impact as well. I know that ucsd is more prestigious but I guess ucsc is better for me!!

@shotgun

Man that tweet doesn’t really comfort me at all. it is “possible”?! I thought they were planning to send out a lot of their decisions this week… guess not, guess it’s just “possible”…

I am literally losing hope every minute. This is so stupid how they make us wait like this in agony.

Alright so I’m pretty sure a pretty decent sized batch will be sent either tomorrow or on Friday. Last Friday was the first batch and from what I have seen from rolling admission schools, most acceptances are sent on Thursdays or Fridays.

I’m pretty sure they will be waiting till the end of the month to send out the rejections

I wonder why the Twitter Account would be so vague and say it is “possible”? They just don’t want people to hate them for all this torture and want the student to have some hope before the rejections? LOL.

I hope some of us applied at UCI for Computer Science and get accepted so they can improve the process for future applicants ;)

If I don’t get into uci it’s ucr because I have no other option… I wish I were positive but tbh I see the glass half empty even when it’s full

this agony…
if I dont get into uci, which ones better for comp sci? ucr or ucsc?

same here @Ivysunshine

Only applied to schools with good writing programs: UCI, University of Redlands, USC, UCLA and Cal State Long Beach. Got into Redlands and Long Beach. Not sure what to do if UCI doesn’t come through because getting into UCLA and USC is a heck of a lot harder.

Anyone know if there is a wave coming this afternoon?

@qnoob: ucsc is well known for their comp Sci check their rankings for their comp Sci department

Based off their tweet, is it safe to assume that no response at this point means rejection, right? If anyone has any information on how they did it last year it would be much appreciated.

The guy on twitter is not helpful and he is just a social media relations representative, so he doesn’t really know much of whats going on in the decision room and with admission officers, his job is just to answer questions based on the university’s guide lines. Guys come on… common sense!
