<p>You guys want to know how sad this is getting? I sent myself an email because I needed to save something and then I got super excited when I saw Inbox(1) because I thought it was UCI admissions but it turned out to just be the email I sent myself… </p>
<p>They’re just giving applicants false hope. </p>
<p>For those of you that are/will be waitlisted/rejected, last year UCI received 223 appeals. Out of the 223, a whopping 54 were admitted. That’s about a 25% appeal rate–fantastic odds. Hope is far from lost if you aren’t admitted during their regular decisions period. All you need to do is write a compelling appeal full of important information you couldn’t fit on your personal statements. Along with that, give them more reasons to admit you–all they’re looking for are determined, ambitious, hardworking students with plans. </p>

<p>My D hasn’t heard either. She was accepted right away to calpoly slo, ucsb, sdsu, csulb, u of a, and oregon state. She will likely go to cp slo. This is torture for many of you that uci is your number one or don’t want to go to colleges you’ve been accepted to thus far. If my D gets into uci she will hit the decline button right away so one of you very deserving students gets that spot!</p>

<p>I think the next wave will be rejections unfortunately. They did it very systematically. All these days it was all acceptances, now wait lists, and then rejections. This was their m.o.</p>
