Son accepted for Electrical Engineering. (received email this morning) Not sure if that major will actually be the one if he decides to attend. Hopefully he can switch it if he decides he likes something else better. While on the campus tour their Engineering Exploratory class sounded intriguing. (do most 17 year olds know exactly what they want to do for the rest of their lives at this point?..I think not)

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I was a little dubious of UCI at first because of my low GPA but I think my SAT scores and activities saved me Also, my essays were pretty well-written[/li][/ul]General Comments: Congrats to all those who got in!!!

Rejected UCD come one UCI please!

Yay! Son was accepted to UCI and UCD.

Anyone rejected at UCI?

@Chubscout Unfortunately rejections will be the last waves.

Why wouldn’t they tell the rejected now. That doesn’t seem right. Everyone has been waiting the same amount of time.

Is everyone who hasn’t heard unable to check notification status? Mine gives an error message.

@Chubscout I am able to login in just fine

@clu2014 What does it show when you click on View the notification schedule under Welcome?

The notification schedule link has never worked for me. My application summary still says they just received my application. This feels like Cal Poly where no one was rejected until all the acceptances went out.

So I guess they are not sending all of their decisions today.

@Chubscout That link has been broken for a while. If you are admitted, your home page should change and say something along the lines of: “Congratulations. You’ve been admitted into UC Irvine.” Has anyone with supp. q’s heard back from them yet. I had supplemental so I’m assuming they will get back to me later.

@chickeninabitskit I did a supplemental application to and I got accepted…don’t worry have hope.

Wait, is there a formal letter attached to the myAdmissions portal like the UChicago one? Because as for me, the only indication that I got accepted was the changed homepage that said “You have been admitted to UC Irvine!”

Calm down. They are obviously accepting science and undeclared majors first. Either that or its a coincidence that people posted that way.

Son accepted this am to BME. 1940 SAT, 4.0 UW, 4.33 UC, 750 SAT2 - Math2 and Chem

D accepted for Bren-Computer Science. She’s so happy after a denial from SLO.

Stats:
CA, ELC
ACT 30
UW GPA 3.8
UC GPA 4.14
7 AP’s all 4’s & 5’s
Tons of EC’s & some leadership
Work experience
Guessing very good essays, promised not to read until later

A chance mtg last yr with the CS dept may have saved her by ensuring she took Calc instead of AP stats. Wasn’t sure she wanted to take AP Calc since she had never taken honors math. She’s always had A’s, just not honors. The VERY 1st question was what Calc class are you taking. If you plan to major in CS here, be certain you have at least one calc class completed! Hopeful for those still waiting!!

@asnappyotter I applied for CS. I probably didn’t get in. Oh well. That’s why you have safety schools, lol.
