***UCI Class of 2021 Applicants***

@JuicyMango It was included in the rejection email LMAO

My financial aid award page has updated. Earlier I was wondering why I didn’t see a financial aid award if others did, but now there’s a new message on a new page.
It says:

Then there’s also a To-Do list (with stuff like accept financial aid package etc.) which wasn’t there before.

Probably means nothing in terms of admissions status but I really hope this means that they’re going to release decisions soon-ish? As in, they’re prepping themselves to release the financial aid packages with decisions.

@yuccatree I got the same thing. I really hope they release financial aid info along with the decisions, as none of the colleges I’ve been accepted to so far have done that.

@JuicyMango Apparently the percentage is wrong, that’s actually just the percentage of people who attend UC Davis, not those who got accepted. The actual acceptance rate was about 22%.

@Greninja Yeah, thats what I was thinking too. 22% is still super low though. I believe thats like half of what it was last year. I assume UCSD was like 20% then. Crazy.

@Greninja @JuicyMango Are you guys sure the acceptance rate for UCD this year was 22%? I mean, I know it’s competitive, and it gets more competitive each year, but a 50% drop in the acceptance rate from last year to this year seems insane…

@wormholes That’s what some people said. Apparently it might be due to the fact that this is the last year that the UC system can get away with its international/OOS policies.

Does anyone know what Davis’ typical yield is? The email said they had 71,000 apps for 5,400 spots.

@socalmom007
From what I know, ucd will admit about 28000 out of the 71000 applicants. From the 28000 admittances, there will be 5400 will enroll in the Fall. So it is about 20%.

I tried to check my financial aid page this morning but the system wouldn’t let me. Anyone else having this problem?

@CARacing also having the same issue

They may understand “FA trick”?

@Greninja What do u mean by the international/OOS policies?

do you guys think I have a chance with a UC gpa 3.6 and 29 act score?
I applied as international studies

@blackpink: Average UC GPA for International studies was 3.88. Your are below the average but within range. I would say you have a 50/50 chance at an acceptance. Again this is all based on statistical data and cannot take into account your EC’s and essays. Best of luck.

@Gumbymom are we to assume the gpa’s noted in that document are capped weighted UC gpa’s?

@Gumbymom do you know how to get that soread for ucla? I found it once a couple weeks ago but havent been able to again. Thanks either way

@socalmom007: Yes, UC capped weighted since only UCB/UCLA use the fully weighted UC GPA.

@potus2044: I have never found a breakout of GPA by major for any of the other UC’s. I have seen breakouts of the # of applicants vs accepted by major. UCI is the only UC that I have found the GPA and SAT score data for Freshman.

@Gumbymom ooo maybe i am mistaken and it was the uci oneni was looking at. Thank you for responding.
