@imasian111 It’s pretty much the same as going to Davis or Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is actually harder to get accepted into than Irvine (35% vs. 40%) which is odd…
Overall rankings for UC’s, but specific programs such as Engineering/CS/Business etc… will be different.
2017 U.S. News and World Report Rankings

lol
got rejected today around 3:45 pm. I thought that I actually had a chance considering I know so many people who got in the first day with like 3.5 gpa’s and sat scores lower than 1100 (the new one). I applied with business admin as my top choice and I didn’t realize that UCI’s business school was that impacted/competitive. My stats aren’t the highest: 3.8 WEIGHTED, 1150 (New SAT), 23 ACT, 4 AP’s total since junior year, EC’s: key club all four years, speech club, summer job, honor roll awards, solid essays (I had my English teacher read them).
Rejected about an hour ago
Intended major: Environmental Engineering
Alternate: Earth Systems Science
SAT: 1270 ACT: 25
GPA: 4.35
Accepted: CSUN, CSULB, Cal Poly SLO, UCD, UCSD, UCLA, UCSB
Rejected: UCI
Waiting: UCB
Rejected let’s go!!!
Honestly I don’t care at this point haha I’m so happy
as expected, rejected…
Rejected!!!
But honestly, at this time, is it okay for me to be extremely happy about this decision!? One less to care about.
FINALLY REJECTED
rejected!! :))
cog sci major
3.6 GPA, 31 ACT, really good ec’s
accepted: sjsu, sdsu, csuf, ua, ucr
waitlisted: ucsc, ucsb
rejected: ucd, ucsd, slo
hope this helps future applicants
did they email you guys rejections or portal???
Portal
GPA: 4.1
ACT: 31
Applied to pretty much the exact same schools.
Major: Bio/BME
Got into sjsu, sdsu, ucm, and uo.
Rejected from ucd, ucla, uci, slo.
Waitlisted at ucsb, ucsc and ucsd.
Its so competitive.
Rejected CS
Accepted to UCLA and UCSD go figure
portal rejection as expected… so it did end up following last year’s trend. Acceptance, waitlist, then rejection. I’m just pissed that they still gave me the sliver of hope when they could’ve rejected me right off the bat. Anyways don’t lose hope. I’m sure y’all will be happy wherever you guys end up going!
Ofcourse, it is not the end. There are better schools that most of us got accepted to.
Rejected just now, no waitlist.
Waitlisted to UCSD, rejected from UCD.
CS, alternate software engineering.
ACT 33 with Eng 35 Science 34 Math 28 Reading 33, essay 28.
GPA UW 3.45, W 4.09, don’t know UC but should be around 3.8.
Academic Decathlon and Swim were my main ECs, as well as mediocre volunteering (lots MY junior year).
I plan to appeal because my AcaDec team placed top 10 in the nation (and I scored high individually myself), but that information didn’t come out until February.
Good luck to everyone still waiting!
Same here! Im going to UCR, but im happy
Rejected.
I’m done with life
same^ rejected. literally out of options, I only have UCR and CSULB for biology, and LMU is too expensive because they didn’t give me enough aid. As my ultimate goal is to become a physician assistant, should I just go CC and transfer? I need above a 3.0 GPA at the minimum to qualify for PA school. I’ve read that some programs don’t accept some classes as credit if they were taken at a CC. Thoughts/Advice?
