UCI doesn't look at Fall grades?!?!?!

Good lord I just called the admissions office and the lady says they DO NOT look at fall grades. WHAT ON EARTH? Is this true or is the lady lying? I was hoping my fall grades will enhance my admission chances.

Dude, yeah.
I emailed UCLA a couple of weeks ago.
And they replied to me in the same manner.

Did she think you were a senior in high school? Although they are supposed to check fall grades for seniors as well. It seems weird that colleges would only look at our freshman year grades.

???

then why would they want a fall grade update in january?

seeing loopinc's old thread, the old lady mustve mistaken you for a highschool senior

I am about 90% sure that you were mistaken for a high schooler. Fall grades for transfers are pretty pivotal.

My God, you got my hopes up. I did very well in freshman year but absolutely bombed my first semester of sophomore year. UCs not looking at fall grades of sophomore years would be an absolute GODSEND to me.

sigh

Loopinc, UCLA doesn't check fall grades either? This is beginning to sound really preposterous.

I thought fall grades were the most CRUCIAL when looking at applications. And yes this is supposed to regard transfer admission. Would anyone like to call UCI admissions office? I keep getting the same damn lady every time I call I think she can recognize my voice -_-

Fall grades are not the most crucial, but they are just as important as freshman grades and all the UCs certainly check them.
