UCI doesn't release decisions by major!

Just called admissions, and they don't release decisions by major. My ears are pretty plugged due to being sick, but I think he said by now decision releases are random. So, rest easy if your major's been released but you haven't heard anything.

Thanks so much for the information. Do you know when the next wave will be? UCI along with UCSB are my last hopes.

No problem, I’m really relieved. I heard from someone else who called admissions there’ll be another wave at the end of the week. When I asked, the employee just said we’d hear by the end of the month.

@whoopsitsaucer thanks man did you get accepted?

That’s cool, I guess. Haha. I say it with satire because I feel being accepted randomly is worse. Gives me a bit of hope if its by major because it seems like no one has been accepted with my major yet, but good for you guys who weren’t accepted yet and are still panicking.

Thanks for the information!

@aznboyivan, I haven’t gotten a decision yet, I just got kinda worried so I called.

@nuitari, no problem! Good luck.

Update: called admissions again, and yes, decisions have been released randomly throughout March.

Did they say anything about when the next wave will come out?

@whoopsitsauser
So, it’s not by order of GPA/SAT? And decisions are not released everyday, just near the end of the week?

@xcyl40, no, it’s not by order of GPA, it’s completely random and has been for the entire month. I didn’t ask them, but someone else who did said there’d be another wave at the end of the week.

@whoopsitsauser
So I’m guessing if we don’t get anything by the end of the week, we’re all rejected?

@xcyl40, no, it doesn’t mean anyone is rejected just by getting a decision on the last day. They might get to your application later, and therefore release a decision later. There are people that get decisions on the last day and get accepted. Or waitlisted, or rejected, but the day in itself doesn’t mean anything. Don’t panic! :)

@xcyl40, exactly what SBVett said! I was checking, and last year, people were accepted as late as the 28th. Ultimately, date doesn’t mean a thing.

just out of curiosity, how often throughout the day do you guys check the UCI portal?

@ladoo786, depends. Usually around 6-8 times, whoops.
