UCI Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@Bibihcmvn Congrats chi  Irvine is a very good place to raise children. Good public education system, also many activities for children at the weekend.

@GoodAfternoonSir Are you going to finish all their pre-req course by the end of this Spring term? My friend has 3.8 GPA in honor program is still waiting for admission even though he finished all the pre-req class in previous semester. It sounds weird.
I think Business Administration is really competitive in UCI though. If you look at UC transfer acceptance rate 2018, they have 2,329 applicants and accept 358. My counselor even says UCI Paul Merage is getting harder for transfer students.
However, dont lose hope ^^

Bus Admin H2H and i still havent heard back…at this point i’ve lost all hope :frowning:
I think i’ll make my decision as soon as UCLA releases this week

@nanavn I already finished all of their pre-reqs. My last pre-req was calculus 2 which I completed on April 3rd, sent the final grade notification to UCI Admissions through student portal on same day. Received acknowledgement on the very next day. So, everything is finished, including IGETC

Do you guys think we won’t hear back until the end of this week?

How do you check/find your Uci counselor

@UniCoIn I met the school’s representative when they come to my CC for transfer fair. I also make an one-to-one appointment with them to ask question about my transfer plan.

@GoodAfternoonSir @nanavn Thanks you guys.

@GoodAfternoonSir hopefully they do, good luck!

@Mustafamanya123 @lilaznprincess95 @nul8497 I haven’t from them at all either  I think someone earlier in this thread said that those who get rejected are usually the ones who were notified about their decision near the end of April and that’s why it takes so long? Although it’s just speculation.

It’s safe to say as a CS major that I’ll probably be waitlisted or rejected by this point. I was relying on UCI but I’ll have to decide between CSUN AND CSUF now. I have a 3.7 GPA, all pre req’s and additional courses finished but from forums last year pretty much everyone at this point got waitlisted on the last day.

If you TAG UCI and met all requirements I don’t see why you are not guarantee. If you did not TAG just curios why you did not? Did you use it for another UC?

I didn’t tag. Decided too late on transferring partly bc of my counselors fault and the fact I didn’t know I qualified or how tag worked bc I was shut down when I asked lol. I assumed I would settle for a CSU campus until I saw what a UC could offer after I applied so then I had my heart set on UCI. (First Gen student) I saw lots of tags waitlisted last year too though. Just gonna hope for the best.

@Relentlessboi huh those tags must have not met the requirements then because it’s a guarantee.

Oh no D: hopefully not! Good luck guys I hope you guys get in!

After getting accepted, my transfer requirements were the regular requirements for regular transfer. I also applied for TAG and then a few days later the requirements changed to the TAG admission conditions requiring a 3.4 GPA. Of course I’m trying to maintain that GPA but in that case should I just follow the TAG conditions regardless?

Has everyone who TAG-ed already heard back?
I TAG-ed but still haven’t heard back. Computer Science Major. I finished all the prereqs including IGETC and I’m honored certified. I have a 3.71 gpa.

I TAG-ed, and heard back on April 2nd

The majority of us who tagged already heard back in the beginning of the month.

@ctran37 there’s a lot of CS TAG majors who haven’t heard back in this thread (including myself) who have prereqs done and IGETC, and no one really knows when we’re going to hear back or if UCI is just going to Thanos snap some TAG majors (which would be terrible) The UCI counselors I talked with said that as long as you finish pre-reqs and qualify, you’ll be good to go, so we’re just gonna have to wait and hope for the best.
