a waitlist offer is just false hope
Still pending and just slowly descending into madness.
Nursing major alternate public health sciences GPA is a 3.52 with plenty of extracurriculars (community service organization, student government, medical assisting, tutoring at my school, double time at two schools at once, etc.)
I get the reason for rolling and pros of doing it that way but it’s so… anxiety inducing. I took ochem just to fulfill UCI pre-reqs. is the suspense really necessary? ;o;
Yea I got in without TAG! My major isn’t really impacted since it’s just Criminology, Law and Society and I had an overall GPA of 4.0 so I think I decent app. Best of luck to you!!
@timngu1127 Business Admin does not have TAG. So people got in BA without TAG.
@purplewhale2297 Yes purple whale! I’m waiting for UCLA I actually applied under American Literature and Culture I think? Since it’s less competitive. I’m actually going to SIR for UCSB since I’ve done extensive research on their English department. Their classes genuinely interest me and they’re up my alley in terms of the kind of literature I want to read and analyze
@vrios95 did you TAP? I put American Lit and Culture as my alternate actually
Waitlisted, sad but also not surprised
Major: Bio
Major Pre-Req: In progress (Finishing up the last one this semester)
IGETC: completed
TAG: no
GPA: 3.16
Accepted: Chapman, CSUF, CSULB, UCR, UCLA (pending), UCSD (pending)
although tbh not really banking on UCLA or UCSD. anybody know what the stats are for those accepted off the waitlist for transfer?
@makaveli96 what a ray of sunshine you are!
is it safe to say that there will definitely be no more acceptances moving forward?
Nothing yet so what should I take it as?
My friend is a CS major and tagged and got waitlisted w/ 3.5 GPA. Her major prep is done this spring.
Just curious. Is your friend missing any reqs that she may not be aware of? If not then it should be guarantee admissions. That is the premiss behind TAG. Appeal??
Lol I’m still pending…
I’m applying as Data science with 3.4 gpa, didn’t TAG and haven’t heard anything. I’m worried I won’t even get into waitlist
3.4 is the min gpa for CS why did you not TAG? Use it elsewhere?
Got an email at 1:48am telling me to check my portal. I’ve been waitlisted at UCI, but I’m going to decline the waitlist offer.
So far, I’ve been waitlisted by UCI & UCD but accepted into UCSB and UCB. Really shows how wild and random decisions can be. Good luck yall
Yeah, because I got a C in my first C++ class and I’m not sure can I get an a for second one, so instead I TAG UCD for other major
I’m not even on the waitlist, is it pretty close that I’m getting rejected?
according to last year’s thread applicants were still receiving admission offers up to the 27th of April. They were just a handful but hey you never know, stay positive.
Thought I would put my stats up for future transfer students to see
WAITLISTED
Out-of-state transfer, but I am a California resident
Major: Biology
GPA: 3.7
IGETC: Done
Prereqs: all completed
TAG: not applicable
Extra Curriculars: community service working with the homeless for 4+ years, intramural volleyball, member of a social sorority, member and fundraising chair of a professional fraternity, community service hours at MedWish, and more that are not as significant
Applied: UCSB, UCI, UCLA, UCSD
Pending: UCLA and UCSD
Accepted: UCSB (March 15)
Waitlisted: UCI (April 23)
I’m not sure how much my essays were factored in, but I wrote really strong essays talking about my struggles with very poor mental and physical health, how I almost failed out of high school, and how I have grown from my past experiences. I wasn’t really expecting to get into any UC’s because I am an out of state student, so I was pleasantly surprised by getting into UCSB and getting waitlisted by UCI.
