Hey everyone, just thought I’d start a thread for Fall 2020 transfers at UCI since UC apps are right around the corner. I’m currently transferring after one year at a CSU followed by one year at a CCC. Here are my stats incase anyone would like to chance me

Hooks: not much, but full time collegiate track athlete hoping to talk to the Cal track coach for any scholarships, and perhaps my brief research stint at Google

To anyone out there please be super honest with my chances and no sugarcoating

Hello there! I didn’t even realize there was a transfer thread for UCI, so it’s awesome that you created one! Sorry for coming on so late though…

Here my stats:

Major: Chemistry
Alternative Major: Public Health Sciences
GPA: 3.5
Major Prep: Will finish by spring 2020

Transfer: From a CSU (I know I have a small chance, but hey, one last chance at a dream right?)
EC’s/Community Service: Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society. Dean’s List. Pre-Health Society member. Hospital Volunteer for 1 year. Gymnastics Coach/ Volunteer in HS for 2 years. Participant in the International Fair in college and Multicultural Fair in HS for 4 years. Previous part-time job as a Cryotherapy Technician
Personal Statements: Relatively strong, according to a couple of tutors and professors.

Applying to: UCSD, UCR, UCI, and UCSC

Good luck to everyone who applies!

@AsianTrackGuy Also, I can chance you real quick.

So, there’s a really nice source to see what were the GPA ranges for transfers in each UC for each major. Just select the options you want and you’ll see all of the results from previous years. The link is here: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major

Anyways, based on that source, your GPA is a tad on the lower side. However, it is still a competitive GPA. Also, you have great extracurriculars. Custom building something and having a Google research opportunity definitely makes you stand out, even if it was brief. Having an incomplete IGETC is okay, but it comes into effect if you do get in and they start assessing for GEs and stuff. Overall, you are a pretty good applicant. Mathematics is definitely a selective major, but as long as you did well this semester, you should be good.

Did you put down an alternative major just in case?

Hi guys ! I’m ready to transfer to UCI (hopefully they accept me tho). Good luck to everyone who applied !!
Major: Psychology
CC GPA: 3.72
UC GPA: 3.68
TAG: yes
Major Prereqs: not required to be finished by the time of transfer
ECs: Senator of Social and Behavioral Sciences in ASG, Secretary of Student United Way, and Chair of Safety Adhoc Committee within ASG
IGETC: will be completed by spring 2020
Applying to: UCLA, UCR, UCSD, CSUF, CSULB, & Harvard bc why not

@fashionista99 Hi, thanks for the reply. I have chemistry as an alternate. For me my main hope is that my TAG went through, assuming all my classes from CC and SDSU transferred, which I’m giving an 85% chance.

Is anyone applying as a nursing transfer major?

I am closing this thread. There is already an Irvine transfer thread:
