UCI Financial Aid

So does UCI financial aid account tell you anything?
Has there been an offer made to those of you who have been accepted?
If not, what message do you get under "My Application Status" and "My Aid Award"?

The UCI financial aid account is here:
https://www.ofas.uci.edu/

I was accepted WEEKS ago and I check my financial aid everyday…still havent received it either…let me know if you receive yours!

mine says “your applicataion review is complete and we will release financial aid award letters beginning mid-april”

anyone else say this?

It says this under My Aid Award…

Your file is complete and we are expecting to begin awarding financial aid in mid-April. You will receive notification from us once your award information is available.

Mine says
“Your file is complete and we are expecting to begin awarding financial aid in mid-April. You will receive notification from us once your award information is available.” too.
For those of who that have that message, have you already been accepted or still waiting?

Also what does it say under “My Application Status”?
Mine says
“Our office has completed the initial evaluation of the information you and/or your parents’ provided on the 2009-10 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Renewal Application. Based on that information, you are ineligible for need-based financial aid but you may be eligible for other financial assistance.”

Mine also says,
“Your file is complete and we are expecting to begin awarding financial aid in mid-April. You will receive notification from us once your award information is available.”

maybe we need to be more patient since its not official “mid april” yet…SIGH

and caltouci…that means that you are ineligible for FAFSA based aid because either yours or your parents income is too high…dont worry though, they offer other types of financial aid/grants/work study from the school and they will let you know what you are eligible for

im still waiting and mine says that… but mine doesnt say that under application status… i dont think it does

Yea I understand that kristie, but does yours also say “our office has completed an initial evaluation…”?

"Your initial application is complete and all documents were submitted on time.

Based upon the receipt dates as shown below, you may be considered for “priority funding” (this includes grants, loans and work-study). Please note, that we may be asking for additional information from you to complete the evaluation of your file. You will remain eligible for priority funding providing all future documents requested are received on or before the due date"

thats what mine says… my mistake…

caltouci, have u been accepted?

under what tab? and it doesnt say it anywhere on mine I dont think…

mine says the same thing peppamint’s says…towards the end of the “my aid application status tab”…but not seeing what you’re seeing caltouci

No I’m still pending peppamint, I guess it doesn’t mean much after all.

Kristie, I think that’s just a difference in messages depending on if you are eligible for aid or not

well whoever sees aid is accepted right? i remember when i applied as a freshman, mine said that when i was accepted… but my friend who wasnt, his said what mine says now =/

OHHH you guys havent been accepted yet? Sorry, complete misunderstanding. I’ve already been accepted and I thought you guys were too. I thought you guys were wondering when the financial aid award information would be released, not trying to find a leak in admissions :stuck_out_tongue: Goodluck to you both, and again sorry for the confusion.

lol im not tryin to find a leak… i just wanna see some kinda aid from UCs =P and see if i can afford any of em! coz im completely… broke…

Haha no worries kristie.
And peppamint, kristie has been accepted, and she still hasn’t been offered a specific amount of aid, so there is no difference right now whether or not you’ve been accepted.

My guess is that the financial aid comes in a few weeks after your acceptance. My understanding is that you will not receive a report without being accepted. However, some schools will send you an “unofficial financial aid report”. I know UCSB does this, not sure about any other schools.

I on the other hand, am trying to find a leak haha.
I’m pretty worried because UC to UC transfer is hard and I have a pretty low GPA

caltouci…your stats if you dont mind me asking? and I recognize your username from around here… never knew you were a UC to UC transfer. goodluck to you!
