UCI Honors Engineering

I’ve been accepted to the honors program with a BS in ME. To those who have gone through honors, engineering, and especially both combined, how is the work load and what are some tips you would give to a newbie coming in. I’m debating whether I should just do regular ME or try out honors along with it.
