UCI Honors vs UCDavis

this is my first time posting on CC so im sorry if i post this in the wrong section.
Back on topic, I am currently accepted into UCI with CHP and UCD with no honors program.
I like both schools but UCD is closer to home.
The aid package I got from both schools are about the same but I think i will try to get more from UCI (they offered 15k and Davis offered 18k, but 12k is from cal grant)
I am trying to become a doctor and i am enrolled in undeclared in UCI and undeclared Life Sciences in UCD.
So CC, plz help me out, which school can help me get into a med school and offer the better bio program. thanks

There’s an honors program at UCD if you’re interested, the early application is die April 25, the regular May 25 if you’re interested. Just search it on google (I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to post links and it’s easy to find). I honestly don’t know about Irvine, but they’re both UC’s so they both would have good science and research. Good luck with your decisions!

What gets you into med school is what you do – how hard you work for good grades, whether you spend some time getting to know a few profs so you get great recs, whether you spend some time getting exposure to the medical world, if you take part in research, if you prep for the MCAT. None of these involve the school, they involve you.

This isn’t to say every college is the same, but when comparing two mid-range UCs the differences are meaningless compared to the effect of what you do. I suggest spending some time getting to know the steps it takes to succeed in applying to med school. There are many good books, and a great starting place is the premed guide online at [Amherst College Guide for Premedical Students](Amherst College Guide for Premedical Students)

The only other advice I’d offer is find out whether the UCI honors program lets you register early for classes. If so, go there; guaranteeing you get the classes you need to finish in 4 years is worth it!
