From what I've heard you just make a housing deposit by May 1st and after that you get a packet to choose where you want to room and all that. So you should be fine as long as you get that deposit in by May 1st.

I heard that students in the CHP all stay in the same dorm/floor. Is that true, because I was planning on dorming with a friend (not in CHP)?

i live in middle earth. its fine for me. close to class. but i guess mesa does have nicer dorms, but middle earth has better bathrooms.

does anyone know anything about arroyo vista?

if you picked ME for your first year, can you change to MC your second year??

I went on a tour of Middle Earth. It looked like a jail cell. All the halls are really narrow and the ceiling is really low. It makes me feel kinda claustrophobic. Is Mesa Court better?

I went on a tour for both, and the halls inside Mesa Court were EVEN narrower and I felt more claustrophobic there than at middle earth - though the rooms at mesa were a lot bigger.

To the person who said Middle Earth has better bathrooms -- huh?!? The ones I saw in Middle Earth looked like a mall bathroom with a shower and a curtain in it with a sign about not leaving food to avoid ant infestation (or something like that). The ones in Mesa Court were like suites with real shower doors. Like something you'd find in a hotel rather than a mall bathroom. I also liked the suite lounge. Didn't see that in ME.

eh, trust me. once the school year starts, you will wish you had the middle earth bathrooms. people coming back drunk and shiet, you want a bigger bathroom rather.

Do we have a choice between Middle Earth and Mesa Court? I turned in my housing application and all it asked me was to rank which i would prefer: the residence halls or arroyo vista? It did not give me a choice between ME and MC nor any themes. Is there going to be more to the application later?

Yes, you should get another thing where you'll choose where you'd prefer to live.

if you picked ME for your first year, can you change to MC your second year??

you cant live in dorms second year.

however if you really want to, you can work as MC staff and live there.

"To the person who said Middle Earth has better bathrooms -- huh?!? "

^ it depends what phases of ME and MC bathrooms you saw. cause phase III middle earth bathrooms are really nice/nicer than your avg ME/MC bathroom

Um yea you can, we have 2 years guaranteed as long as you follow the guidlelines of submitting before May 1st

I thought it guaranteed on-campus housing for 2 years.
I'm pretty sure the dorms are only for freshmen.

Dorms are only freshman. 2nd year housing is in apartment complexes owned by UCI. They are much nicer than dorms anyway haha. Vista Del Campo looks sexxy.

Will it be easy to make friends if I dorm in a single?

well i dont go to UCI but ive heard alot of things about both. i did a stay over in MC and well the people in ME...if ur drawn to ME, then sure it may b the place for u. but MC has normal people in there, plus more spacious living fr what ive seen. one of the reasons y i was deciding against uci was that the people at ME scared me a bit. the social life they were displaying wasnt that appealing to me

no clue which to pick.

i really wanna visit the campus, but i doubt i'll get a chance to.

mesa court or middle earth?

hmm...
