Uci impacted majors

What are they?

Nursing Science, Business Administration, Business Information Management

biological science

Really? Curious, what is your reasoning behind this?

bio sci is not impacted

Is engineering (specifically Mechanical Engineering) impacted?

Business Economics

business economics is not impacted!!!

Im pretty sure Bio science is impacted at UCI… Have to look that up.

What does impacted mean

what about studio art?

[UCI Change of Major Criteria: School of Biological Sciences](http://www.changeofmajor.uci.edu/CoM_BioSci.html)

Requirements:
Cumulative 2.0 GPA

now, tell me that’s impacted.

for studio art, it doesn’t seem like you need to audition. Look up studio art on the link i posted.

impacted means limited space, they don’t accept anybody, competition.

do you think Civil Engineering is hard to get, at UCI?

@ahnyoungs2
Impacted means that major spots are open to a limited amount of people. Majors like Nursing Science and Business Admin only allow a set number of students in the program.

Not too sure about CE, I got in with a 3.8, 2000, and the typical high school crap. However, I don’t see many civil engineers, or rather I don’t meet many engineers in general. Almost everyone I meet is business or bio.

@tama21 thanks for the info! i was wondering if the CE dept. at Irvine was good or not? I always hear stuff about how UCI doesn’t have great engineering programs. What are the positives/negative facts about CE?

Well it is not quite CS so you get less programming exp. than CS/ICS majors due to the EE upper divs. However If you are looking to work on Comp architecture it might be the best major available because the major really gives you a nice foundation in understanding the underlying EE hardware. This can go a long way towards writing memory efficient software.
