UCI: Information & CompScience B.S. vs CompScience B.S. ??

Im looking at assist website and I see that Computer Science B.S. requires all the CompSci and calculus classes + Physics or Chemistry.

However, when I checked information and computer science B.S. it requires the same CompSci and calculus classes but not physics or Chemistry.

Whats the difference?? Looks too good to be true.

I have the same situation for some of the schools that I applied to. In UCSD, they have a Political Science (International Relations) and International Studies - Political Science. I found out that the Poli Sci (IR) is more on the political science side while IS - Poli Sci is more directed on the International Studies side.

I think in your case, the CS major is more directed towards CS and the I+CS major is less directed to just CS because of the Informations aspect… I’d look up the major descriptions on the school you’re looking for and deciding from that, as well as doing some additional research (on College Confidential maybe).
