I'm used to be an incoming freshman in UCI and I just want to know if UCI sends notifications regarding on things that an incoming freshman has to do in order to ensure her spot in the college. I just got a letter of admission withdrawal because supposedly I did not turn in all the necessary documents that I need to turn in. They have notified me through my email on JUNE 10 saying that I have to turn in my transcripts by July 15 and I have done that. They did not send me anything else saying that they have not received anything from me and I got a letter today stating that my application has now been withdrawn because of that.

Welcome to college no one is going to hold your hands anymore.

You can go check if they received your transcript via admission.uci.edu under myschools it should show which school they recieved transcript from and which they didn’t. Also mytest for test scores that are supposed to be sent.

Call admission and see what you can do. You are REALLY late on this it was due almost a month ago but beg plead maybe they’ll help you out

I have turned it in at the time, but they told me that they have not received my transcripts. I have the receipt of the mail that I have sent them but they didn’t really do a good job of telling me that they didn’t receive anything when I turned it in on time.

you’re responsible for checking to make sure that everything was received in time…
I heard all the UC’s are very strict this year with deadlines and such, so my friends and I made several calls every week in july to make sure that transcripts, test scores, and whatever else was needed got there in time.
If they notified you last month that it wasn’t received, it would have been better if you contacted them about it then. I honestly don’t know what could happen now, but for sure, give them a call and see what you and the school can compromise to.

They didn’t notify me at all saying that they did not receive anything. I always check my email and my UCI account to see if they send me an email telling me that they did or did not receive it. I’ve been also following up with them about everything because they also had a discrepancy with my financial aid and one of their representatives told me that I have to wait by August because that is the time that they will process everything. All they notify me most of the time is my housing or the SPOP that is coming up next week.

Your situation sounds awful. Really sorry this happened, but as other posters have said, you could have gone online to check to see if everything was completed. I hope by now you have called them. Is it possible for you to hand deliver the sealed transcripts or get the school to overnight them in thru FedEx? If possible, get someone else to call that will represent you in a more authoritative manner - speak to supervisors and don’t take “No” for an answer.

To the original poster, I am in the exact same situation you are in. I paid money to have my transcripts sent to the school more than a month before the deadline, and I received a withdrawal notice. My high school also gave me proof the transcripts were sent. I thought it was hopeless, but I called admissions and was told that I could appeal the decision. I just submitted my appeal, and am now waiting for it to be reviewed. My advice to you would be to do the same, submit an appeal and explain your situation.

I made a thread on this too! It seems pretty harsh for them to take away your hopes and dreams of glorious college life just because of one flimsy (albeit pretty important :P) piece of paper sent late. Of course, it is extremely important to frequently check your account thing to see if they’ve received all the required documents. I failed to do that, so now I’m suffering the consequences, as are the other people in this thread. I really hope that they’re generous with the appeals, because the only proof I have is a letter from my school saying that I asked for the transcript to be sent months ago but they didn’t do it.
